Manager - Database Administration

Position Overview:
The Manager-Database Administration will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of all databases and their infrastructure. The role includes overseeing database management, maintenance, consolidation, and optimization, with a focus on delivering reliable and efficient data solutions.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree or a professional qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in Database Administration, with a strong understanding of database design, normalization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), DB2 or AS400 certification is a plus.
- Extensive expertise in database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, etc.
- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
- Proven track record in managing and resolving complex database-related issues.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to guide and train subordinate staff to develop skills and knowledge to discharge their respective duties efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize the work assigned.
